Riot f*cked u on your placements? Look no futher! This is a super easy way to gain elo (till about plat 1+ or so!)
So u go on your account go in ranked and pick Master Yi, u might think this is a stupid pick because, non-tanky, gets punished early, countered hard to cc. Let me tell u that this not true at all! U can go devourer + blork (DO NOT GO GUINSOO'S RAGEBLADE), and then go deadmansplate, and 2 other tank items of your choice!
EARLY GAME:
Take ignite instead of flash till plat 5 orso, this will help you gain early advantage! Start jungle the side your bot is and get a golem/grump leash, then straight to enemy jungle red/blue (all depend on what side your on), if you're lucky (it happends to me about 50% of the time) u can get first-blood + enemy buff. Be sure to tell your team you're going to invade their red/blue, but even if you get caught by enemy jungler in lower elo the mid/bot almost never follow so you dont really have to be worried! It's very important that u take all the jungle and creeps if u can in early game so u can rush devourer. When you have your devourer + lvl 6 u sneak a dragon which gives 5 stacks (if you're really ahead go do herald aswell). Incase this all goes wrong and u get behind dont worry! Just stick to your plan and keep stacking the devourer and then go blork and then tank. Around 30 min when u get your tank item u start really doing the dmg.
TEAMFIGHTS:
In teamfights NEVER go in when you're behind or get 1 shot very easy, if you're fed go ahead u will still get a kill or 2 before u die so #worth. If you aren't fed u need to look to catch them out, even if its their tank u melt anyone with E+sated devourer. This is how yi really stands out, if they coming at u 1 by 1 or 2-3 people u can easily kill them because yi is just broken with W reset and the chance to dodge skillshots and on hit attacks with Q.

So u might think this is just bullshit but before i picked up yi i never hit above gold 5 on my now perma banned account. I bought 2 acc's that are now 14 days banned but this is the result of 5 days of ranked orso!
